Maserati Sebring *** New Price ***

Details

Following on from the very successful 3500 series, Maserati released its replacement model the 3500GTi or Sebring at the 1962 Geneva Motor Show. The Sebring was so named after the famous circuit where Maserati’s mighty race cars had such success many years prior. Like the Spyder variant of the 3500GT, the Sebring was built by Vignale and it retained the old cars wheelbase and basic specifications.

These 1960’s Maseratis are timeless, classic coach built cars and the Sebring is one of the most elegant. With only 600 cars built between 1962 and 1968 the Sebring is also extremely rare.

We are delighted to offer a 1964 Sebring Series 1. This particular car resided in Victoria up until 1988 before being sold to a Maserati enthusiast in Perth, WA. Whilst in Perth the car had tens of thousands of dollars spent on a full mechanical refurbishment. This included the engine, gearbox, differential, suspension, brakes and cooling system, which were all either rebuilt or reconditioned. Additionally, the car was also re-wired during this time. The car returned to Victoria some three years ago and the current owner, a well renowned Maserati and Italian car collector, has converted the car back to left hand drive to ensure it is a more usable classic. Converting these factory left hand drive older Maseratis to right hand drive generally creates a very awkward driving position due to the offset nature of the transmission tunnel. As a result the left hand drive car is a more comfortable and enjoyable car to drive. Additionally, the current owner has had work done to the body, including a repaint. All of the work has been completed by marque experts.

Additionally, at some stage in the cars life the fuel injection system has been replaced by triple Webber 42DCOE carburettors.

With very few miles since its refurbishment this classic Maserati presents beautifully inside and out. The car drives extremely well and it is mechanically strong, with the 6 cylinder engine making all the right noises!

These great Maseratis are terrific value when compared to period Aston Martins and Ferraris. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to acquire a relatively affordable classics Maserati.

The odometer reads 76,958km.
