The original Porsche 356 Speedster is one of the most iconic automobiles ever built. The recipe for success was simple . . . . take the 356 Cabriolet or Convertible and give it a low, raked windscreen which easily could be removed for weekend racing, bucket seats, a minimal folding top, and side curtains instead of wind-up windows. Primarily built for the American market the Speedster was an instant hit when introduced in 1954. Crica 4,000 Speedsters were built before being replaced by the Convertible D model in late 1958.

In 1989, Porsche revived the Speedster, creating an instantly collectible 911. Its roots were obvious as the new car had many features synonymous with the original Speedster, including the shorter more angled windscreen. Additionally the modern Speedster had a hatch covering the rear compartment and folding roof, complete with fairings. The Speedster was sold in either narrow body or more commonly with the Turbo wide body. By modern standards this is a rare car with only (circa) 2,100 produced and sold world wide.

We are delighted to offer an extremely rare and unique Australian delivered wide body Speedster. This particular car can only be described to be AS NEW. It has had one owner from new and travelled a mere 8,672km! It’s now unbelievably 23 years young and it still presents and even smells like a new car!

What makes this car even more unique is that it was ordered with a Porsche factory slant nose from new and fitted with centre lock 3 piece 18 inch RUF style wheels. Additionally, the owner opted to fit factory C2 bumpers and mirrors as well as RS door trims and seats. The original bumpers, door trims, seats and steering wheel (which are all as new) accompany the car.
